The Open Water Scuba Instructor portion of the program continues to improve your leadership and teaching techniques to prepare you for your life as an Instructor.

Course details:

PREREQUISITES

  • Assistant Instructor Certification.
  • Certified diver with a seniority of at least six months.
  • 60 logged dives (with experience in night, deep and navigation diving).
  • Proof of CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months.

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF

  • Independent Study – Knowledge reviews, tests, classes, and presentations.
  • Confined Waters – Review and evaluation of techniques, seminars and presentations.
  • Open Water – Seminars, rescue assessment and presentations.
  • You must have a minimum of 100 logged dives to become an Instructor (although you can begin training with 60 logged dives).

INSTRUCTOR EXAMINATION

After completing your IDC, you demonstrate what you have learned in the Instructor Examination (IE). Here, an independent and objective Instructor Examiner evaluates your techniques and knowledge, checking everything from diving theory to regulations.

PREREQUISITES FOR THE INSTRUCTOR EXAMINATION

  • Successfully complete the IDC

  • Diving theory and rules and procedures exams
